New Door!

Well David and Paul spent all of Saturday putting in our new front door. It is beautiful! I am not posting pictures because I want it to be a surprise when you come! It makes our house look more fancy. It also brings in so much light! We love it!

Stake Conference!

Man that meeting was awesome! We are so lucky to have the truth in our lives! I really want to hear what touched all of you during the talks today. Feel free to comment!

There were so many great things that hit me but I've narrowed it to two that I'd like to share from Elder Hales' talk.
  • I loved to explanation of talking on the yolk of the Savior as taking upon us His name by keeping His commandments/covenants. It was really powerful to me when that description is used in the scripture as what makes life easy and our burdens light.
  • I also liked the description of prayer as making a plan and bringing it to the Lord. God is asking us "What would you have me do so that ye may have light in your vessel?" I like that it is our responsibility to use our hearts and minds to help prepare us to receive what we request from the Lord.

Desires of our hearts

Sarah, just wanted to thank you for the post and challenge on evaluating the "desires of our hearts". I especially liked the following quote:

"The absence of any keen desire—merely being lukewarm—causes a terrible flattening (see Rev. 3:15). William R. May explained such sloth: “The soul in this state is beyond mere sadness and melancholy. It has removed itself from the rise and fall of feelings; the very root of its feelings in desire is dead. … To be a man is to desire. The good man desires God and other things in God. The sinful man desires things in the place of God, but he is still recognizably human, inasmuch as he has known desire. The slothful man, however, is a dead man, an arid waste. … His desire itself has dried up” (“A Catalogue of Sins,” as quoted in Christian Century, 24 Apr. 1996, 457).

Read the reference to Rev. 3:15. It clearly tells us how God feels about the lukeward!

Anyway, I hope we all will WORK to achieve the righteous desires of our hearts and not be lukewarm, just floating on the waves wherever they take us.

Love to all, MOM
