Ah! The wondery wonderfulness of college weekends!

This past weekend Stephen and I headed to Englewood, CO so I could do my P4 shadowing at Swedish Medical Center. It was AWESOME! I don't know if any of you watch 'House' but we seriously sat down in a room and discussed a patients disease and what to give them just like on tv! only it was real. Seriously cool. We had some serious fun afterwards and when I got home my amazing bestest friend Nikki was there to spend the rest of the weekend with me. Oh YEAH! College is great people.

Stephen and I in our 3D glasses for BOLT! We definitely we outnumbered by people under the age of 10.

Stephen enjoying the ribs at Texas Road House.

Stephen in his new hoodie (yes it has fur, yes I tried to talk him out of it)

Stake Conference!

Man that meeting was awesome! We are so lucky to have the truth in our lives! I really want to hear what touched all of you during the talks today. Feel free to comment!

There were so many great things that hit me but I've narrowed it to two that I'd like to share from Elder Hales' talk.
  • I loved to explanation of talking on the yolk of the Savior as taking upon us His name by keeping His commandments/covenants. It was really powerful to me when that description is used in the scripture as what makes life easy and our burdens light.
  • I also liked the description of prayer as making a plan and bringing it to the Lord. God is asking us "What would you have me do so that ye may have light in your vessel?" I like that it is our responsibility to use our hearts and minds to help prepare us to receive what we request from the Lord.

this is me and my minute & a half of fame in the play Grease!! it's pretty much AMAZING!!

Desires of our hearts

Sarah, just wanted to thank you for the post and challenge on evaluating the "desires of our hearts". I especially liked the following quote:

"The absence of any keen desire—merely being lukewarm—causes a terrible flattening (see Rev. 3:15). William R. May explained such sloth: “The soul in this state is beyond mere sadness and melancholy. It has removed itself from the rise and fall of feelings; the very root of its feelings in desire is dead. … To be a man is to desire. The good man desires God and other things in God. The sinful man desires things in the place of God, but he is still recognizably human, inasmuch as he has known desire. The slothful man, however, is a dead man, an arid waste. … His desire itself has dried up” (“A Catalogue of Sins,” as quoted in Christian Century, 24 Apr. 1996, 457).

Read the reference to Rev. 3:15. It clearly tells us how God feels about the lukeward!

Anyway, I hope we all will WORK to achieve the righteous desires of our hearts and not be lukewarm, just floating on the waves wherever they take us.

Love to all, MOM

Happy Halloweener!!

So for Halloween me and my roommate Pace decided to be Siamese twins. We buttoned our basketball pants together, tied our shirts together, and went to the dance. It was really funny to see us dancing with 2 girls...... you had to be there. We even won a prize for our costume. We were definitely the life of the party. :)

Sitting on the pot brushing our teeth :)

Here's us at the urinals..... Not really set up for Siamese twins. so we just took turns.

Halloween FUN!

Yay Jamie's first Halloween. We went to a carnival at the church and then went Trick or Treating with our nieces. She was so stinking cute! Everyone loved her and gave her parents candy because she was so cute. One lady had to bring her husband to the door to look at her.
It was so warm I had no coat and sandals. Wow a miracle. :)The cutest bunny ever!! I couldn't have gotten a better picture. She is so photogenic!

What a pretty Gypsie. I love getting dressed up!

An M&M and a gypsie what a cute couple :)

Grandma holding her little bunny at our ward party. The branch was in charge of the carnival so Grandma and Grandpa were there.

Punk'in Carving

So we had Billy and April over to carve pumpkins on Thursday! We had a lot of fun! Can you guess which one is ours. I'll give you a hint, David picked the template :)
